This project explores the design of an ergonomic garden spade for users with arthritis and for anyone who may experience strain from poorly designed tools. The goal was to create a comfortable and accessible tool that promotes long-term joint health.

The process involved thorough research on users, market trends, patents, and ergonomics, followed by 25 prototypes, multiple user testings, and iterations that led to five mid-stage models and a final design. The outcome was branded under Gardena, reflecting the brand’s focus on innovation, comfort, and sustainable design.
